Sermon Notes
In this webcast, Pastor Greg Laurie shares a new message following last week’s Crusade called “Discipleship: The Next Step in Following Jesus” from Matthew 28. Join us as we learn how to take the next step in our faith.
Application
- Not every person who says they are a Christian is really a Christian—it’s not simply coming forward but going forward.
- The Christian life is about consistency, and constantly moving forward … spiritually.
- If some people spent half as much time discipling a baby Christian as they do with their dogs, this world would be a better place!
1. The new believer needs acceptance.
2. The new believer needs assurance.
3. The new believer needs protection.
4. The new believer needs fellowship.
A new believer not only needs to hear the truth; they need to see it lived.
5. The new believer needs older believers, and older believers need new believers.
New believers energize us, and we help to stabilize them.
When new believers discover things from God’s Word, it reignites us.
New believers are the lifeblood of the church.
6. Before I can make disciples, I must first be a disciple.
Be Baptized.
Are You Obeying His Commands?
If I am not making disciples of others, I’m not really being the disciple God wants me to be!
The calling of God is the enabling of God.
God does not call the qualified; He qualifies the called!
What does it mean to “Go and make disciples?”
Answer: It is to lead others to Christ and establish them spiritually and do it again!
What does Jesus say?
“Lo, I am with you to the end of the age.”
Are you willing to be a disciple?
