by Greg Laurie on Jul 30, 2023

Today Pastor Greg Laurie starts a brand new series called “The End of the World,” this week’s message is called “Is Jesus Coming Back Again?” from our Sunday Morning Service.

Sermon Notes

The return of Jesus is coming! Pastor Greg outlines some signs of the times that reveal God’s plan for Jesus’ return in action, and how we can prepare ourselves for the day of judgement.

Application

  • God never forgets anything, and He knows everything.
  • All of life is a continuum to Him—The past is present, future is past.
  • Bible prophecy is God revealing history in advance.
  • The New Testament contains over 300 references to the return of Christ (that’s one out of every 13 verses).

The Sign of the Times tells us one thing: Christ is Coming!

  1. The explosion of technology, including artificial intelligence.
  2. The emergence of China as a superpower.
  3. The aggressiveness of Iran and its repeated threats against Israel.
  4. The war in Ukraine led to statements from world leaders, including President Biden, speaking of a potential Armageddon.
  • Jesus is coming again!
  • Jesus said, “When you see these things begin to happen, look up.”
  • It is important to understand Bible prophecy, as there is a blessing promised to the person who reads, hears, and keeps it.
  • It is not God’s desire to conceal but to reveal.
  • Bible prophecy is not given to scare us but rather to prepare us.

When we study Bible prophecy, it should not merely be done to tantalize or entertain us; it should be done to motivate us to seek personal Godliness and bold Evangelism.

  1. Be Patient.
    1. We must be patient for the Lord’s return.
    2. Jesus has not returned yet because He is waiting for more people to believe.
  2. Stand in Unity with Fellow Christians.
  3. Be Aware of the afterlife.
    1. The Judgement Seat of Christ will be like an awards ceremony.
    2. Life is all about your faithfulness to God, and using the gifts He has given you!
  4. Be Courageous.
    1. Stephen was courageous because his eyes were on Jesus and the next life—he had a glimpse of glory!
  5. Be Trusting.
    1. Job did not curse God, but instead worshipped God!
