Will I Go To Heaven?

by Greg Laurie on May 7, 2023

Sermon Notes

This week Pastor Greg Laurie continues our series called Timeless. Today, join us as we take a deep dive into the biblical truths about Heaven and Hell.

Application

We will all die and enter the afterlife.

Three Important Truths:

  1. A final judgment.
  2. Only two destinations beyond the grave.
  3. The destination you will enter depends on your relationship with Jesus.

  1. A final judgment.
    1. God is in control, and He keeps very accurate records.
    2. And ultimately, every wrong in the universe will be paid for!
  2. There are two destinations beyond the grave: Heaven and Hell.
    1. Heaven is better because I am moving from a tent to a mansion.
    2. Heaven is better because all my questions will be answered.
    3. Heaven is better because I will be with Christ.
  3. Heaven will be amazing!
  4. Heaven is a real place for real people.
  5. Heaven is paradise.
  6. Heaven is a city.
  7. Heaven will be a place to do things and have fun!
  8. Like Heaven, Hell too is a real place for real people.
  9. The sin of the rich man in Hell was not because of his wealth but his heart; he was possessed by his possessions.
  10. Hell was not made for people; it was made for Satan!

“There are only two kinds of people in the end: those who say to God, “Thy will be done,” and those to whom God says, in the end, “Thy will be done.” All that are in Hell, choose it. Without that self-choice, there could be no Hell.”—C.S. Lewis

Question 1: What is going to happen to me after I die?

  • God never meant that men and women should die.
  • Adam and Eve sinned, and because of this, we die; but for the Christian death is not the end—our soul lives on!

Question 2: Is there really a God?

  • Will you go to Heaven? That is entirely up to you!
  • Admit that you are a sinner, turn from your sin, and ask Christ into your life.
  • To not share your faith and tell others about Jesus can be a sin.
  • Sins of commission and omission.
  • God does not want any person to end up in Hell.
  • Scripture tells us in Jude 1, “Snatch people from the flames of judgment.”
